- Property:Commercial office space
- Location:London
- Client:International University
- Services:Access Audits
These vacant offices in central London were needed by our client to create a new teaching and administration base for the university. The premises were set over part of the ground floor and entire first floor.
Before agreeing to the lease terms, our client commissioned us to provide a disabled access audit on the premises, due to the awkward layout. Although the university did not have any disabled staff or students, they were aware of the Equality Act (which replaced the Disability Discrimination Act in 2010).
As with all our access consultancy work, we examined the property for any issues that may cause problems for disabled people. Disabled people are often categorised as wheelchair users, but this is a complete misconception.
Our report contained not only the full audit of the premises, but also photographs, sketches, budget costings and suggestions on how to overcome the access issues we identified.
We provide this service throughout the UK.
