We were appointed as a joint expert in this claim. The property is a ground floor 2 bedroom flat in a multi-storey block.
The letter of claim stated the property was suffering from considerable dampness.
Our detailed inspection of the property revealed extensive dampness to a number of internal and external walls. We noted the moisture readings were higher closer to the bathroom. Removal of the panel within the bath revealed a leak to the water supply pipework. This had clearly been going on for some time and had allowed water to enter the concrete floor construction and spread throughout the property.
Remedial works will be considerable and include professional drying of the property.
