- Services:Cavity Wall Insulation Surveys Expert Witness
We were contacted by a private landlord who was concerned that the cavity wall insulation they had installed at one of their properties was not done correctly.
On receipt of instruction, we attended the property with our borroscope(s), damp meter, thermal imaging camera and masonry drill. With the permission of the landlord we drilled several small diameter holes in the external leaf of the cavity wall to insert our borroscope(s). As the photographs show the cavity has been ‘filled’ with Isothane, albeit very poorly, with numerous large voids in the insulation. As part of the survey, we also inspected the roof void and all internal walls, along with taking damp readings throughout.
Our client was delighted with the service and report, which they are using to assist in having the defective installation rectified.
Although we work nationally for this service, this particular one was quite local to us.
We have undertaken many cavity wall insulation inspections throughout the UK.
