You may be forgiven for thinking that a new build property is free of defects. However, this is very often not the case. In fact our Snagging Inspections often reveal over a hundred snags that require a developers attention.
The term snag refers to a (often small) defect or issue with workmanship or materials that remains following completion of all works, such as scratches or unfinished work. However defects can be more serious and even structural.
Our snagging inspections are undertaken by a Chartered Building Surveyor and allow for inspection of every accessible part of the property including grounds, boundaries, driveway, paths and garage.
We produce a comprehensive report of all snagging items noted, with accompanying photographs, a copy of which is issued to you as client with a copy also being issued to the developer. If required, we can undertake a ‘de-snag’ inspection to ensure all snags noted have been dealt with correctly.
Considering a new house is likely to be the most expensive purchase of your life, we offer a peace of mind service to ensure your home is completed to the standards we expect.
We provide New Build Snagging Inspections throughout most of the UK.
