We’ve been producing Access Audits since the inception of the Disability Discrimination Act 2005 (DDA) – now replaced by The Equality Act 2010.
The Equality Act is largely similar in its requirements for access to buildings, services and facilities, to the Disability Discrimination Act. We therefore have extensive knowledge of what adjustments are required to existing buildings to achieve compliance.
It is important to point out at this stage that our Access Audits are based on a common sense approach (Reasonable Adjustments) and written to enable compliance of the Act with the minimum of works i.e. expense.
Our Audits contain recommendations on how to achieve compliance which are written in plain English and easy to follow and understand. Our recommendations are prioritised, fully costed, referenced to the Act and include photographs.
We have particular experience in undertaking Access Audits to Historic, Heritage and Listed buildings.
Due to our extensive experience in producing Accessibility Audits, this service is in demand and we operate throughout the UK.
