Recent heavy rainfall and gales from Storm Ciara have caused extensive flood damage to towns in West Yorkshire and beyond. We are here to assist policyholders and insurers alike in reinstating their damaged property.
We have extensive experience in insurance and flood damage reinstatement works. Typically our service would involve:
- undertaking a site visit to assess the damage from flooding
- producing a schedule of works (and drawings if required)
- liaising with the loss adjuster and policyholder
- obtaining tenders for the repair works (if required)
- overseeing works on site to completion
including contract administration
We have a good network of experienced, reputable contractors who regularly undertake insurance reinstatement works.
Having worked within the surveying arm of Cunningham Lindsey loss adjusters for over five years, our Chartered Building Surveyor Matthew Wood is very familiar with the process of insurance claims and reinstatement. As well as being a Chartered Surveyor, Matthew is also a member of the British Damage Management Association, the foremost organisation for insurance damage professionals.
During his time at Cunningham Lindsey, Matthew managed the reinstatement of dozens of properties affected in 2015 by the severe flooding damage caused by Storm Desmond in Cumbia, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire. Matthew managed the reinstatement process from initial inspection and assessment of flood damage, through to completion of repair works on project values between £20k – £500k, including high net worth and commercial.
You are under no obligation to use the surveyor as suggested by your loss adjuster
Indeed this might be considered as a conflict of interest. Many policyholders prefer to have an independent professional appointed on their behalf to be appropriately represented and have the works correctly specified and managed.
Being a smaller company, we can provide a fast and responsive service, tailored to each client. We work throughout the North and Midlands of England.
Besides working on flood-damaged properties, we have experience in the full range of insurance perils including fire, subsidence, impact damage and escape of water. We are pleased to be of assistance on both residential and commercial properties.
Under most insurance policies our fees are paid by insurers.
